Project - Bill Structure Tab - Screen Description
Additional Information
The Bill Structure tab allows you to define the billing structure used for each project bill term. Before a bill structure can be defined, one or more bill terms must be added for the project. Then, one or more bills tasks are added in a hierarchical list format and can be linked to project tasks to define the billing structure. Because billing can be based on a single bill task, projects tasks do not need to be linked, but this structure is typically only practical for lump sum type work.
When the first bill term is added to a project and a Fee Type has been entered at the root level of the project, the project is automatically linked to the bill term in the bill structure; for simple projects, this defines the bill structure to directly mirror the project structure.
The Bill Structure tab is divided into two panes of information, which include a read-only pane with the project task structure and a pane used to create and maintain the bill task structure. The project task structure is defined on the Project - Tasks Tab and cannot be edited from this tab.
Tasks Pane
The Tasks pane displays project information from the Tasks and Bill Terms tabs. The displayed task structure is defined on the Task tab and cannot be edited from this tab.
The default columns are marked with an indicator (
