Staff Utilization (Inquiry)
Additional Information
The Staff Utilization Inquiry allows you to view a summary of posted staff utilization transactions. This includes a summary of hours, cost, and effort posted to employees for direct and indirect activities over a selected period of time. This inquiry provides three levels of information, which include staff utilization information, an employee's hours, cost, and effort by project and task, and associated detailed transactions. Staff capacity is based on total utilization percentage rather than any stored capacity values.

Note: For an employee's staff capacity to be calculated and included, a Work Calendar and Employment Period must be defined in their employee record. Lack of staff capacity may affect what is shown in the inquiry. |
Restrictions
The inquiry includes the following default restrictions:

From Posting Date |
Enter or select a posting date. This is the first date in the date range to include open items. This field defaults to the current posting period. Note: When the From Posting Date is set to the first date in a new month, Net Capacity values may not reflect the full timesheet week. This typically occurs when Distributed Timesheet Posting is not in use and a non-timesheet, month-end Posting Date exists in the previous month for accounting purposes. In this case, selecting that month-end date as the From Posting Date displays full capacity for the first week in the new month. |

To Posting Date | Enter or select a posting date. This is the last date in the date range to include open items. This field defaults to the current posting period. |

Currency Type | Enter or select the type of currency to display on the inquiry. his field defaults to Company Currency, but available options include Base Currency, Company Currency, and Document Currency. |
| Employee Status | Select a status. This limits the inquiry results to employees with the selected status. This field defaults to Active. | |

Results
The inquiry results include the following three levels of information as shown below. For an explanation of each of the results columns see Staff Utilization Inquiry Results.

Staff Utilization: The first level of the inquiry provides a summary of staff utilization, which includes Employee Code, Employee Name, Hours, Effort, Chargeable Hours, Net Capacity Hours, Net Utilization %, Goal Utilization %, and Goal Hours.

Project Task: The second level of the inquiry provides an employee summary by project and task, which includes Project Code, Project Name, Task Hierarchy Code, Task Name, Hours, and Effort.

Transaction: The third level of the inquiry provides detail transactions, which includes Posting Date, Transaction Date, Hours, Effort, Working Organization Code, Working Organization Name, and Billable.
