Manage Organizations
Additional Information
From the Project - Budgets tab, you can add, insert, and delete organization rows. For projects, the Project Budgets split pane and Project - Budgets tab are synchronized. When organization rows are added, changed or deleted and budget effort is updated in one location, the same data updates and displays in the other location.
Use the following information and steps to manage organizations:
Add an Organization
Use the following to add organizations to tasks. New organization rows can be added for leaf level task rows and organization rows. Organizations are added below the highlighted row.
- Click the Add
button.
A new organization row is added in the Tasks and Organizations pane. - Click the right mouse button and then select the Add Organization option.
A new organization row is added in the Tasks and Organizations pane. - On a blank row, you can directly enter an organization.
Insert an Organization
Use the following to insert an organization. Organizations are added above the highlighted row.
- Click the right mouse button and then select the Insert Organization option.
A new organization row is inserted in the Tasks and Organizations pane.
Delete an Organization
As needed, an organization can be removed from the Tasks and Organizations pane.
- Select a task row, and then click the Delete
button.
The selected organization row and related budgets are deleted from the Tasks and Organizations pane. You can delete more than one row using the Shift-Click OR Ctrl-Click combination of keys. If a row in the multi-selection does not qualify to be deleted, the context menu and the icon are disabled. - Click the right mouse button and then select the Delete Organization option.
The selected organization row and related budgets are deleted from the Tasks and Organizations pane.
Note: Remember that organizations can only be changed on the Tasks and Organizations pane when they are in a draft state.
Changing Task Owning Company / Organization
When the Organization Variance Responsibility on a project is = One, only the owning company/organization on variance level tasks can be budgeted.
If Budget Method = Variance, a change to the owning company and/or organization affects data in the Project Task tab budgets split, Project Budgets tab and Project Earned Value tab.
If Budget Method = Detail, only the Project Earned Value tab is affected.
