Unit Type

The Unit Type screen allows you to add unit types. These are categories of company-owned equipment or other types of project related charges that become part of a Unit Bill Rate Schedule, which is assigned to a project. This category is used in any transaction that requires unit costing or billing information. When you assign a Unit Type to a Unit, you allow the system to track that cost and potential billability.

Unit types are associated with an equipment type, and when units are entered, the equipment type is limited by the unit type entered.

Examples of unit types include: copies, mileage, drilling, and capital equipment usage.

General

In the General area, define the unit type.

 Field Description
Code Enter a unique alphanumeric key to identify the document. Once a code has been entered and the document has been submitted to final, it typically cannot be changed.
Name Enter a name to describe the document. The name does not have to be unique.
  Status

Select the status of the document.
