User Preferences
User preferences are system settings that you can tailor to personalize your experience, including data entry grids, form layouts, inquiries, and favorites. The app automatically saves any changes you make to the user experience, so that any updates you make are preserved and remembered when you reopen the same view.
For example, if you open a project with the simple view, make changes to the position of the fields on a grid, and then close the project, the next time you open any project with the simple view, the app remembers the position of the fields the way you left them previously.
Saving Preferences
User Preferences are automatically saved and stored in one of three ways:
- On Demand
- Auto-Save
- On Exit
On Demand
Whenever you select Save As or Remove for a Named View or Inquiry Restriction, or create or delete a Favorite, the changes are saved immediately, in real-time.
Auto-Save
Any user preference changes you make that have not already been saved on demand are auto saved every five minutes, including: Personalization Options; Data Entry and Inquiry Grid Column Add, Remove, Move, Resize, and Group By; Form View Expand and Collapse of Group Boxes; Navigation Pane Expand and Collapse; Inquiry Restrictions; and unnamed Views.
On Exit
Any user preference changes you make that have not previously been saved on demand or auto saved are implicitly saved whenever you close the app.

settings
In the Settings section, enter preferences to personalize how lookups and navigation will behave for you.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| IntelliType | Select to enable the IntelliType functionality for look up fields in the system. For more information on this function, see IntelliType. |
| Auto Select | Select to enable the auto selection functionality for IntelliType. When you type a value in an IntelliType field, this option will automatically select the first item that is returned in the results when they tab out of the field. By default, this option is enabled. |
| Collapse Navigation Pane results | When selected, the Navigation Pane results will be collapsed into groups when there is more than one group. If there is only a single group, that group will be expanded regardless of this setting. If you manually collapse or expand groups yourself, your personal preferences will override this setting. |
| Lookup Query Count |
Enter the default number of results to return when a query is run. The value must be between 1 and 1000. This value also controls the number of suggested values that will be returned on IntelliType enabled fields. |
| Inquiry Split Pane Location | Select the location of the inquiry split pane in relation to the inquiry result pane. Available selections include Right ( to the right of the results pane) and Bottom (below the results pane). |
