IntelliType
IntelliType is available on lookup type fields and column fields in the system. It allows you to perform data entry more intuitively and inline by suggesting values for referenced type fields. This feature can be personalized to maximize your experience or disabled as needed.
How to Use IntelliType
When in a lookup type field, IntelliType responds to your keystrokes. After you have entered the minimum number of characters, a drop down list displays a dynamically generated list of suggestions of valid values based on your entry. If a suggested value is too long to display, hover over the value to see the full name. The list continues to be refined as you type.
When a suggestion matches as a single near match or an exact match, the value is highlighted and you can tab off of a field to select the value. In addition, you can select a value from the list of suggestions; press the up or down arrow keys to navigate through the list of suggestions. Only single values can be selected using IntelliType; to select multiple values on a supported screen, you will need to open the lookup dialog box.
In addition, when you exit a field, if you have entered a partial value and an exact or near match exists, the field is automatically completed.

Note: For date-based, referenced look-up fields (e.g., Posting Date), enter the Short Date Format for the Region enabled on your workstation. For example, a user with the en-CA region enabled should use the YYYY-MM-DD format to enter and select a date if they do not wish to use the search functionality. For more information on the Short Date Format, reference the Microsoft documentation. |
