Shift Tasks
The Shift Tasks dialog box allows you to bulk adjust task start and finish dates forward or backward in time. The dialog displays a hierarchical list of all the tasks and their start and finish dates. Once rows are selected, you can enter a new start date to shift the tasks to. Tasks are shifted independently of resource assignments. This may cause out-of-sync conditions and you will have to manually adjust assignments to sync them up.

Note: When shifts are applied, the baseline data is not updated. |
Overview
The shift tasks process does the following:
- Calculates difference in working days between the New date and Existing date.
- Shifts all task Start and Finish dates by the number of working days calculated, as bound by the work calendar. If calculated days are positive, shifts forward in time; if calculated days are negative, shifts backward in time.
