License Example

The License screen allows you to maintain licenses for any BST Global products. Upon purchasing the use of a BST Global product or adjusting the number of employees for which you are licensed, you will be issued a license key. The license key determines the product you are licensed to use and a quantity of users (active employees) that can use the product.

If this is the first time that you are licensing the product, you will need to create a License for the product and then add the license key. Each license key has a date on which it becomes effective and, optionally, a date on which the license key will expire. For a license key to be effective, the current system date must be equal to or greater than the Effective Date and less than the Expiration Date if one has been provided.

License Example

  1. An initial License Key for a quantity of 1000 with 2012-01-15 as the Effective Date is entered.
  1. If the current system date is before 2012-01-15 then the Effective Quantity will be 0
  2. If the current system date is 2012-01-15 or later then the Effective Quantity is 1000
  1. A second License Key for a quantity of 200 with 2012-02-01 as the Effective Date and 2012-03-31 as the Expiration Date is entered.
  1. If the system date is before 2012-01-15 then the Effective Quantity will be 0
  2. If the current system date is equal to or greater than 2012-01-15 and less than 2012-02-01 then the Effective Quantity is 1000
  3. If the current system date is equal to or greater than 2012-02-01 and less than or equal to 2012-03-31 then the Effective Quantity is 1200
  4. If the current system date is equal to or greater than 2012-04-01 then the Effective Quantity is 1000

Note: For the product, the Effective Quantity refers to the number of Employees who have an Active status. If the number of active employees equals the Effective Quantity you will be prevented from adding any active employees.
