Chart Data

Area Description
Amount

The left-side of the chart, or the y-axis, displays the task hierarchy codes and task names of the selected project. Several Closedoptional columns are available.

Period

The area below the chart, or the x-axis, displays the scheduling periods. By default, the entire schedule of the project displays. The chart's time span for the project is based on the Start Date and Finish Date of the project.

The default unit of presentation is posting periods, and these are based on the Scheduling Calendar for the project. However, depending on the length of the project, you may choose to display it as months. Side scrolling is provided.

Chart

The chart will be presented in Gantt row format, organized by task with separate bars for Baseline and Actual task duration. The bars have the following characteristics.

  • Baseline: this bar shows task start as the then scheduled start date in the Project Task setup. The Baseline end is the then scheduled end date in the Project Task setup. The number of work days between the start and end dates will determine the length of the duration bar. The most recent Baseline is the one used.
  • Actual: this bar shows task start as the current scheduled start date n the Project Task setup. The Baseline end is the current scheduled end date in the Project Task setup. The number of work days between the start and end dates will determine the length of the duration bar
  • Task Progress is presented as a thin bar line shown within the Actual duration bar that indicates financial and work progress in work days on the task. Task Progress is calculated as: Revenue % Complete / 100 x Number of Work Days.
  • Today: this vertical line indicates where today falls within the Gantt timeline. This line helps identify which tasks are behind or ahead of schedule because since all Task Duration bars crossing the Today line should have Task Progress lines touching the Today line. Those tasks with Task Progress lines that have crossed the Today line are ahead, those that have not touched it yet are behind. Moreover, tasks that are not scheduled to start as of Today but that show progress are also ahead.
