Earned Value Analysis - Historic (PM)

The Earned Value Analysis - Historic visualizer allows you to review the current and past 11 periods of actual posted project financials, budget information, and planned information (project-to-date) for a project. The project is selected from the Project Scorecard at the top of the tab.

This visualizer is available on the Project Management Dashboard.

The chart is organized by potential revenue and posting period and displays the planned revenue, PTD (project to date) effort, and PTD revenue.

Note: If a task does not have a Start Date and End Date defined, it is not included as part of the chart.

Area Description
Amount The left-side of the chart, or the y-axis, displays currency amounts.
Period

The area below the chart, or the x-axis, displays posting periods. By default, the past 12 posting periods should display. The posting periods are based on the selected Posting Calendar for the project. However, depending on the length of the project, this may need to be displayed as quarters.

The chart's time span for the project is based on the Start Date and Finish Date of the project.

Chart

The chart includes the following information:

  • TD Revenue: Displays the cumulative project to date revenue.
  • TD Chargeable Effort: Displays the cumulative project to date effort.
  • Planned Revenue: Displays the planned revenue for the period. Planned Revenue is calculated as Budget / the number of Posting Periods (based on the Start Date and Finish Date of each Task).

For the last posting period, the value should equal the Effort Budget for the project.
